Electro-Mechanical Technician

We currently have an opening in our Engineering Department based at our Canton, MA headquarters.

The Electro-Mechanical Technician is a key member of the engineering team who works hand-in-hand with design engineers to develop customized equipment that provides solutions to our customers needs. Responsibilities will include the following:

• Assist in new product design development and design upgrades to existing products.
• Assemble prototype equipment.
• Perform development testing and data analysis, test fixturing (mechanical and electrical), test procedure writing, test report writing, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement.
• Ensure that all tests are completed accurately, on time, and are clearly documented.
• Write assembly procedures.
• Develop and fixture electrical mechanical test setups.
• Complete test reports on all testing.
• Work with engineers on program timing and development of testing requirements.
• Work with other technicians to achieve team goals.
• Travel to customer sites to assist and troubleshoot equipment.

This position will provide various opportunities to develop mechanical, electrical, technical writing, data analysis, creativity, programming, leadership and other skills. This position will also provide opportunities to improve both assembly and test methods and equipment.  The successful candidate must have an Associates Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience with at least 5 years experience with pneumatics, hydraulics, and motor control systems including specific experience with PLC, AC/DC motor controllers, Servo controllers and software/programming.   

This position involves direct contact with customers necessitating excellent communication skills and the ability to deal with high pressure situations in a positive and professional manner.  Must be flexible and able to deal with multiple, high priority projects with short lead times.  Occasional weekend work and last minute travel will be required.
