Project Engineer 

We currently have an opening at our Canton, MA location.

As a key member of our engineering team, our Project Engineer will develop customized equipment that provides solutions to our customers’ needs.  We are seeking a candidate who can work closely with our sales team and our customers to define project requirements and then work to drive the projects from their conceptual phase through to installation at our customers’ facilities.  Responsibilities will include the following:

• Develop custom equipment to meet customers’ needs and improvements for performance and manufacturability to existing products.
• Ensure that all projects are completed accurately, on time, and are clearly documented.
• Assist in the development of departmental procedures and standards.
• Generate accurate, detailed customer layout and production drawings in Solidworks and AutoCAD.
• Work with technicians to develop assembly and test procedures.
• Recommend and execute validation tests for new products and designs.

This position will provide various opportunities to develop mechanical, electrical, project management, creativity, leadership and other skills. The successful candidate must have a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering with at least seven years machine design experience including specifying motor, bearings, pneumatics, hydraulics, and motion control components with knowledge of fabrication processes including sheet metal forming, welding, machining, and casting.  Must be proficient in using Solidworks for design, detailing, and for presentations.  This position involves direct contact with customers necessitating excellent communication skills and the ability to deal with high pressure situations in a positive and professional manner.  Must be flexible and able to deal with high priority projects with short lead times.  Occasional weekend work and last minute travel will be required.
