Mechanical Design Engineer

We have enjoyed steady growth over recent years and we currently have an opening for an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team of skilled professionals. These positions will be based in our Canton, Massachusetts headquarters.

We are seeking a talented engineer experienced in machine design—preferably within the food processing and or packaging machine industry.

RESPONSIBILITIES
• Designs customized hardware to meet customers' needs based on Reiser's standard processing machine offerings.
• Generates accurate models and detail drawings using Solidworks and AutoCAD.
• Travels to customer sites to assess project feasibility and to assist hardware installations.
• Works closely with sales team and with customers to define requirements.
• Works closely with the shop to assemble and test equipment prior to shipment.
• Ensures that all projects are completed accurately, on time, and are clearly documented.

REQUIREMENTS
• A bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent engineering experience.
• 3-5 years of machine design experience.
• Proficiency with Solidworks and 2D cad software.
• Demonstrated ability successfully managing multiple projects.
• An ability to communicate effectively and in detail to all levels within the organization and to customers both one-on-one and to a group.
• Demonstrated logical thinking and problem solving skills.
• Understanding of mechanisms, materials, pneumatics, and electrical control systems.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes and requirements.
